Job summary

The Shyft Group USA, Inc. is seeking an Associate Design Engineer in California to support mechanical design, drafting, and documentation.

You will create CAD models, drawings, and BOMs, while assisting with engineering releases and project documentation in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience, SolidWorks proficiency, and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 1–2 years in engineering design or related role.
• Proficiency with CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience using PDM/workflow a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create, revise, and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks.
• Support design changes and drawing updates through the PDM workflow.
• Assist with BOMs, revision control, and documentation for production and quoting.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, purchasing, and customer support.
• Identify opportunities to standardize parts and improve manufacturability.
