Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Database Administrator to support enterprise-level Air Force communications systems and cloud-based databases. You will manage migration, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and security compliance in Azure and AWS environments.

Responsibilities include maintaining data integrity, developing migration plans, documenting status, and collaborating in agile, customer-centric defense programs onsite.

Qualifications

• 3+ years related database administration experience, including migrating, managing, and maintaining cloud-based databases on Azure and AWS.
• 3+ years SQL experience.
• 2+ years Azure SQL and Oracle SQL experience.
• Experience coding and scripting.
• Self-driven ability to manage workload without direct supervision.
• Ability to anticipate potential problems and minimize their impact.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies in an operational environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Secret-level security clearance must be obtained and maintained.
• DOD 8570 Certification, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent, must be maintained.

• Support operation and maintenance of enterprise-level Air Force aircraft communications, equipment maintenance, and training simulation systems
• Maintain integrity, security, and availability of multiple locally hosted, cloud-hosted, and cloud-based databases
• Perform disaster recovery, performance analysis and tuning, index maintenance, and data monitoring
• Develop data migration plans for transitioning databases into cloud-based environments
• Develop full life-cycle management plans for cloud-based databases
• Perform database migration activities, including baseline data assessments, data replication and migration, and data and data-structure testing
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation on database status, technical support, and migration efforts
• Create risk migration plans for database management and migration efforts
• Review technical change proposals for effects on database integrity and security
• Participate in technical interchange meetings, design sessions, and unit testing
• Foster a collaborative, team-based environment and share standard methodologies
