Job summary

Leading Law Firm in New York seeks a Junior Data Privacy Associate to join its growing privacy practice. Ideal for an attorney eager to advise innovative companies on data privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and technology-related legal issues, with early responsibility and direct client interaction.

You will work with startups to established businesses across technology, life sciences, fintech, and consumer products, supporting privacy policies, data processing agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Experience in privacy counseling, commercial contracts, cybersecurity, AI governance, product counseling, or transactional privacy diligence.
Experience with commercial contract negotiation or venture capital M&A deal management will also be considered.
JD earned between 2022 and 2025.
Prior experience at a large law firm.
Admission to the NY State Bar

Responsibilities

Advise clients on domestic and international privacy and data security laws, including CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, COPPA, BIPA, and emerging AI regulations.
Draft and negotiate privacy policies, data processing agreements, data-sharing arrangements, consent language, and related commercial agreements.
Support product counseling, cybersecurity, AI governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions.
