Overview

• The practice offers early responsibility, direct client contact, and advises technology, AI, life sciences, fintech, consumer products, and software companies at all stages of growth.


• Advising clients on privacy and security laws, including CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA, COPPA, BIPA, and other emerging privacy and AI frameworks.


• Drafting and negotiating privacy documentation, such as privacy policies, data processing agreements, data sharing arrangements, consent language, and related commercial terms.


• Supporting privacy, product, cybersecurity, and AI counseling for product launches, commercial agreements, regulatory readiness, and day-to-day compliance questions.


• Managing privacy and data security issues arising in venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.


• Maintaining and updating the Data Privacy group’s knowledge base and forms.


• Previous large law firm experience is required.


• Candidates should have meaningful experience in one or more of the following: privacy and product counseling; cybersecurity, AI, or product regulatory counseling; drafting and negotiating privacy and commercial agreements; privacy diligence and data protection support in corporate transactions; and/or strategic or commercial contract drafting and deal management in venture financing and M&A.


• A strong interest in working with startup, growth-stage, and venture capital-backed clients is required.


• Enthusiasm for emerging technology and the evolving regulatory landscape impacting innovative companies is expected.


• Desire to develop a broad, marketable practice in privacy, product, cybersecurity, and AI counseling with a practical, business-oriented mindset.
