Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced infrastructure design engineer to craft comprehensive data center architectures and CONOPs. You will partner with Operations and government stakeholders to ensure high availability, resiliency, and operability of complex IT environments, including VDI components.

You will research options, develop tests, and produce artifacts and training materials while validating new technologies in Lab facilities for feasible integration into live environments.

Qualifications

• Must hold Top Secret SCI clearance and be able to obtain a poly prior to start.
• DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
• 12+ years of experience with HS, 10+ years with AA, 8+ years with BS/BA, 6+ years with MS/MA, or 4+ years with PhD in related field

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, CONOPS, and system architectures to create detailed infrastructure and data center designs.
• Collaborate with Operations teams and Government stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure availability, reliability, resiliency, and operability objectives.
• Research optimal design characteristics and conduct analyses of alternatives for technology and service options, feasibility studies, and proofs of concept.
• Incorporate capacity, performance, and service-level metrics into designs.
• Produce engineering and design artifacts, test cases, training materials, and supporting documentation, including CONOPS.
• Research new technologies and articulate integration benefits to stakeholders.
• Use lab facilities for experimentation, technical investigation, and feasibility validation.
• Develop test cases and scripts for unit and system tests across designs and configurations.
• Support transfer of engineered solutions to Operations teams during acceptance testing, blue/green fielding, and early production use.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting, repair, and optimization services for VDI components.
• Develop and execute IT equipment strategy covering assessment, vendor evaluation, procurement, implementation, deployment, governance, compliance, and risk management.
• Deliver end-to-end engineering transition support from development to ongoing operational maintenance
