Job summary

CACI International is seeking a Junior Hardware Engineer to support the DIA CIS program in Colorado Springs. The role focuses on designing, delivering, and maintaining digital IT infrastructure, data centers, and VDI components, collaborating with government stakeholders to meet reliability and performance targets.

You will analyze requirements, execute AoAs for new technologies, and participate in CSI and innovation activities, using Lab facilities for validation and testing before deployment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain poly prior to start.
• DOD 8140 Certification applicable to role (minimum Security+)
• HS and 12+ years of experience, an AA and 10+ years of experience, BS/BA and 8+ years of experience, MS/MA and 6+ years of experience, or PhD and 4+ years of experience
• Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience designing, integrating, validating, and implementing IT hardware and software solutions

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, CONOPS, and system architectures to create detailed infrastructure and data center designs.
• Collaborate with Operations teams and Government stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure availability and resiliency.
• Research Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs) for technology and service options and proofs of concepts.
• Incorporate capacity, performance, and service-level metrics into designs for optimal user experience.
• Produce engineering artifacts, test cases, and training materials with guidance to team.
• Research new technologies and articulate benefits of integration into current infrastructure.
• Use Lab facilities to promote experimentation and feasibility validation.
• Develop test cases and scripts for unit and system tests across designs and configurations.
• Support transfer of engineered solutions to Operations during acceptance testing and initial fielding.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and optimization for VDI components.
• Develop IT equipment strategy covering assessment, procurement, deployment, governance, risk management.
• Deliver end-to-end engineering transition support for handoff to operations
