Job summary

Schnabel Boise, ID is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer to join our growing geotechnical and earth engineering practice. You will develop both field and analytical skills, contribute to design calculations, inspections of dams and hydraulic structures, and assist in preparing plans and specifications under supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, has 0–2 years of experience, proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D, and a strong work ethic with willingness

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments that may last several months away from the office.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal drafting procedures and guidelines.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.
