Job summary

The Portland, OR office of Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer to join our growing practice. We are looking for a motivated candidate with interest in developing both field and analytical skills and a desire to grow with a strong team.

Responsibilities include applying professional principles, assisting CAD drawing preparation, and developing design calculations for hydraulic structures. Travel to field sites and long assignments may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• 0–2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel for extended assignments.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles and models to real-world problems as part of a team under supervision.
• Assist in preparing CAD drawings for contract documents and reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for construction documents.
• Develop recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures and inspect dams and related facilities.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.
