Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Junior Cyber Intelligence Analyst to support a U.S. Department of Energy contract in the Washington, DC area, delivering timely threat intelligence on hostile actors and cyber adversaries targeting the energy sector.

The role requires 2–4 years in cybersecurity or threat analysis, experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar, Elastic), and familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, RMF, plus Security+. Active TS/SCI or DOE Q clearance is required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years supporting cybersecurity, cyber intelligence, SOC operations, incident response, or threat analysis.
• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, or Elastic.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and RMF.
• Security+ certification required (or ability to obtain within six months).

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of Cyber Intelligence services to deliver timely, actionable threat intelligence on hostile nation-states, cyber adversaries, and criminals targeting the U.S. energy sector.
• Support the U.S. Department of Energy contract under supervision of the Amentum team.
• Assist in threat analysis and SIEM-related tasks to improve security posture.
