Job summary

Keystone Cooperative, Inc. in Rushville, IN is seeking an Apprentice Applicator to apply dry fertilizer and lime to labeled crops. You will operate and maintain application equipment, assist with loading/unloading, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on each job.

The role offers hands-on training, potential advancement to Custom Applicator, and requires a valid driver’s license, state commercial applicator certification, and Ag CDL. Overtime may be necessary during peak season.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; experience considered.
• Valid driver’s license with MVR check.
• Must obtain and maintain state commercial applicator certification.
• Must obtain and maintain an Ag CDL.
• Strong communication with team and customers.
• Familiarity with crop chemicals and farming practices.
• Willingness to adapt to new application technologies.
• Overtime may be required during peak season.

Responsibilities

• Apply dry fertilizer products and lime safely and efficiently.
• Use equipment to apply correct products at right rates to fields.
• Assist in mixing, loading, unloading, and transporting products.
• Maintain logs and follow safety rules (PPE, regulations).
• Perform calibration and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Rinse/wash equipment per regulatory guidelines.
• Assist team with field operations and customer service.
• Follow OSHA and DOT policies.
