Job summary

Lima One Capital seeks a Jr. Asset Management Analyst to support Special Servicing Asset Managers in monitoring business-purpose real estate loan portfolios.

You will assist with financial and property analyses, construction draw administration, reporting, and asset resolution activities. You will work with Asset Managers to identify risks, support decision-making, and ensure timely servicing of loans and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, real estate, business administration, construction management, economics, or related field preferred.
• Experience or internship in commercial real estate, banking, lending, asset management, construction lending, financial analysis, or related fields preferred.
• Real estate market research skills using online resources (CoStar, Zillow, Rents.com).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic understanding of construction and construction project plans.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support the management and oversight of performing and non-performing commercial real estate loans.
• Analyze property performance, market conditions, borrower financial information, and project status.
• Review loan documents, borrower reporting requirements, financial statements, operating reports, budgets, and other loan-related information.
• Aid in contacting defaulted loan borrowers to determine reasons for default and assist with plans to resolve.
• Present workouts with borrowers within company and lender client parameters, with guidance from Asset Manager.
• Monitor borrower compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements.
• Communicate with borrowers, contractors, attorneys, inspectors, brokers, property managers, and other third-party service providers.
• Help with workout, modification, forbearance, recovery, and asset resolution activities.
• Assist with managing an assigned portfolio of assets under the direction of management.
• Prepare asset summaries, portfolio reporting, business plans, recommendations, and status updates for management and investors.
• Maintain accurate loan, property, project, and borrower information within company systems.
• Support special projects, loan sales, market event outreach, and departmental initiatives.
• Develop understanding of construction budgets, milestones, and outstanding requirements.
• Identify and elevate potential risks (credit, collateral, construction, operational, or project-related).
• Coordinate construction draw requests, including documentation, inspection reports, invoices, lien waivers, budgets.
• Order and review collateral property inspections and construction progress inspections.
• Assist with process improvement efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.
