CenCore is seeking a Junior Construction Surveillance Technician (Junior CST) to support secure manufacturing, production, and construction-related activities in Aurora, CO. This role supports the protection of controlled work areas, materials, personnel, and production activities for portable and modular Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs). The Junior CST helps monitor site activity, support access control, document observations, and elevate concerns in accordance with security procedures, construction standards, ICD 705 expectations, and approved project requirements. This is a strong opportunity for a dependable cleared professional with foundational construction security, physical security, or secure-site monitoring experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor secure manufacturing, production, and construction-related activities to support compliance with security protocols, project specifications, and approved requirements.
- Support access control processes by observing personnel movement and helping ensure only authorized individuals enter controlled or restricted work areas.
- Observe contractors, vendors, materials, tools, equipment, work areas, and activity zones for potential security, safety, or compliance concerns.
- Document and report suspicious activity, procedural violations, safety concerns, process deviations, and other issues through the appropriate reporting channels.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, observation notes, incident records, visitor documentation, and other required site security records.
- Conduct routine checks of assigned areas, materials, and activity zones to support secure production, construction security, and site compliance requirements.
- Coordinate professionally with site security, manufacturing, production, construction, logistics, engineering, quality, and program personnel to support mission continuity.
- Provide timely updates to site leadership and security personnel regarding observed risks, site status, and follow-up actions.
- Follow site safety protocols, personal protective equipment requirements, and secure manufacturing expectations at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card.
- Active security clearance required; clearance level must be confirmed based on contract and customer requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Construction Surveillance Technician (CST), construction security, secure facility, physical security, access control, site monitoring, military security, industrial security, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of security protocols, access control, visitor control, escort requirements, and secure construction or production practices.
- Ability to observe and document work activity, personnel movement, materials, tools, equipment, and potential security or safety concerns.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a secure manufacturing or construction-like environment.
- Ability to use communication devices, reporting systems, access logs, surveillance tools, and related site security technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Department of State Construction Surveillance Technician certification or CenCore-approved CST training.
- Experience supporting portable or modular SCIF production, SCIF construction, secure facility manufacturing, controlled area operations, or cleared construction projects.
- Familiarity with ICD 705, TEMPEST-related requirements, technical surveillance risk mitigation, SCIF construction, modular secure facilities, or secure production processes.
- Experience supporting government contracts, defense, intelligence community, critical infrastructure, secure manufacturing, or cleared work environments.
- First Aid, CPR, AED, OSHA, construction safety, or related certifications.
- Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance, if aligned with customer requirements.
- Construction security awareness and situational judgment.
- Observation, inspection support, and issue escalation.
- Accurate documentation, report writing, and recordkeeping.
- Professional communication with security, construction, production, and program stakeholders.
- Attention to detail in controlled or sensitive environments.
- Ability to follow post orders, site procedures, and customer security requirements.
- Reliability, discretion, and accountability when handling sensitive information.
- Ability to support safe, compliant operations in active work environments.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work is performed on-site in a secure manufacturing, production, or construction-like environment in Aurora, CO.
- Position requires regular monitoring of work areas, controlled spaces, personnel, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, observe activity, and move through active production or construction areas for extended periods.
- May be exposed to noise, dust, machinery, tools, materials, uneven surfaces, and other active-site conditions.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment and follow all site safety, security, access control, and customer requirements.
- Schedule may vary based on production activity, construction activity, security coverage needs, customer direction, or mission requirements.
- Travel is expected to be minimal unless otherwise directed by the program or customer.

Compensation Overview
The pay range for this position is $28.00–$32.00 per hour.
