Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Project Engineer I to support field coordination and project team resolution of issues. The engineer will review plans, manage submittals, and implement quality and safety procedures across the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of construction experience, with strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum of two years related construction experience.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Current driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
• Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, Non-Conformance Report.
• Manage submittals: set up register, obtain approvals, prepare transmittal forms, coordinate packaging, review, and processing.
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members.
• Maintain schedule of timelines and ensure completion.
