Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Project Engineer I to interact with staff at all levels and to remain flexible, proactive, and professional in a dynamic environment. The role focuses on reviewing, analyzing, managing, and resolving field coordination issues with project teams and participants.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in construction-related fields and at least two years of construction experience, with a strong emphasis on detail, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• Minimum of two years related construction experience.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans, specifications and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
• Implement the pre-construction quality plan.
• Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expenses.
• Develop and maintain tracking and test/inspection logs.
• Manage, create, and distribute contract documents; handle electronic documents (RFIs, correspondence).
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members; maintain schedule of timelines and ensure completion.
