Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking entry-level engineers in Cleveland, Ohio, to help manage all aspects of construction projects. Reporting to a project manager or superintendent, you will help coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors on site.

You will gain experience in estimating and bidding, design issue resolution, field issue management and contract documentation while supporting project schedules and quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management, Construction Technology.
• Knowledge of engineering principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors; direct the work of trades on site.
• Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to manage project budget.
• Resolve and clarify design issues; identify and resolve field issues and change orders.
• Write contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language; document all ordered work, schedules, costs, change orders and specs.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensure work is completed per quality standards and contract specifications.
• Implement project schedules and track each task toward completion.
• Document the technical, financial and personnel aspects of each project.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals and change orders; monitor trade progress.
