Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to assist in managing construction projects. You will report to a project manager or superintendent and gain exposure to budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with owners, architects, and trades.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree and possess strong communication and reading of technical drawings. Training will cover safety regulations, codes, and scheduling software to support project success.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of engineering principles.
Reading and understanding technical drawings, specifications, manuals.
Willingness to learn safety regulations and codes.

Responsibilities

Coordinate work with owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
Manage estimating and bidding processes and track costs to manage project budget.
Resolve design issues and field issues and change orders.
Write contracts and purchase orders documenting work, costs, and specs.
Participate in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
Support field operations to ensure contract compliance and quality.
Document each phase of the project and track milestones.
