Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to assist in managing construction projects in the Harrisburg area. You will report to a Project Manager or Superintendent and help coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors, while supporting budgeting and change order processes.

Responsibilities include field issue resolution, contract documentation, schedule implementation, and ensuring quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline, construction management or related field.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and basic business acumen for budgeting.
• Proficiency with reading technical specs, blueprints and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors and subcontractors.
• Assist in estimating, bidding processes and tracking costs to manage budgets.
• Resolve design issues and field problems, and document change orders.
• Prepare contracts and purchase orders using boilerplate language.
• Participate in meetings to coordinate work and labor concerns.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and contract specifications.
• Support project scheduling and tracking of tasks to completion.
• Document project phases, costs and personnel aspects.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals and change orders with teams.
