Job summary

Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. seeks an entry-level Contracts Specialist to apply a law degree to construction contracts, contract administration, and risk management.

You will assist with reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements, while coordinating documentation throughout the contract lifecycle. The role provides exposure to construction operations, insurance requirements, and evolving contracting procedures, under the direction of the Contracts Manager.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; recent graduates welcome.
• Foundational contract-law understanding and ability to analyze language.
• Strong research, writing, proofreading, and analytical skills.
• Attention to detail with organized record keeping.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and collaborate cross‑functionally.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; willingness to learn construction contracting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and redline client contracts, subcontracts, PO's, amendments, and change orders.
• Identify provisions needing review, including indemnification, insurance, payment terms, scope of work, and termination.
• Prepare contract summaries and revisions; assist with negotiations under supervision.
• Research contractual questions, summarize findings, and escalate to counsel as needed.
• Prepare and distribute subcontracts, releases, change orders; track signatures and files.
• Support contracts from review through execution and closeout; monitor deadlines and renewals.
• Coordinate insurance certificates with risk management, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Coordinate prequalification documents and obtain information from internal teams.
• Communicate with project teams, accounts, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve documentation issues.
• Assist with summaries related to contractual questions, claims, or disputes.
• Maintain contract templates, tracking systems, procedures, and training materials.
