Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking an Intern 2 in Riverdale Park, MD to support the OCIO with technology communications and employee outreach. The role emphasizes clear copy, timely execution, and collaboration across teams to execute campaigns and updates.

The position offers 15 hours per week at 22.00–22.50 USD per hour, with exposure to writing, SharePoint site management, data surveys, and digital media production within a government environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Forms, Clipchamp).
• Polished, professional writing style with superior English.
• Ability to simplify complex ideas into clear copy.
• Strong stakeholder communication and timely delivery under deadlines.
• Experience with digital production and media creation.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit emails, graphics, instructional materials and intranet content.
• Develop and manage project SharePoint sites and materials.
• Create stakeholder surveys, analyze data, and write summary reports.
• Support graphics production with a contract designer for campaigns.
• Plan, design, and launch department newsletters.
• Produce instructional videos and post them for internal audiences.
• Prepare PowerPoints/slide decks for governance meetings.
