Upington Commercial Law Firm is seeking a Junior Commercial Associate to develop expertise in contract drafting, corporate advisory, and dispute resolution. You will work with partners and associates on diverse matters, gaining exposure to complex transactions and a range of clients in Upington and beyond.

Qualifications

Admitted Attorney with 1-3 years PQE in commercial law or related field.
Strong contract and company law knowledge.
Excellent research, drafting, and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with the ability to deliver high-quality work.
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Proficient in legal research databases and standard software.
Willing to work a hybrid schedule in Upington, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities

Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements and transactional documents.
Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on various commercial law issues.
Support senior attorneys in managing corporate clients and advising on compliance matters.
Participate in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
Assist in the preparation of court documents and correspondence for litigation matters.
Manage client communications and maintain organised case files.
Attend client meetings and contribute to team discussions on legal strategy.
Stay updated with legal developments relevant to commercial practice.
Support the firm's business development efforts through diligent client service.
