The role blends in-office collaboration with remote flexibility, offering exposure to contract drafting, corporate advisory, and dispute resolution under senior partners and clients.

The ideal candidate is an Admitted SA attorney with an LLB, 0–3 years’ PQE, strong research ability and excellent communication skills, ready to build a career in the Eastern Cape

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with an LLB degree.
• 0-3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law.
• Strong academic record and interest in commercial/corporate law.
• Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior lawyers with contract drafting, negotiation, corporate advisory, and dispute resolution.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on varied issues.
• Draft, review and amend commercial agreements, leases and other legal documents.
• Support due diligence for corporate transactions.
• Assist in managing client relationships and communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior lawyers in handling a broad spectrum of commercial law matters, including contract drafting and negotiation, corporate advisory, and dispute resolution.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on various legal issues.
• Draft, review, and amend commercial agreements, leases, and other legal documents.
• Support the due diligence process for corporate transactions.
• Assist in managing client relationships and communication.
• Prepare court documents and pleadings under supervision.
• Attend client meetings and potentially court appearances with senior lawyers.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant South African laws and legal practices.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files.
• Contribute to the firm's knowledge base and professional development initiatives.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa with an LLB degree.
• 0-3 years of post-qualification experience in commercial law.
• A strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in commercial and corporate law.
