Job summary

TriMas Company LLC in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Junior Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift to maintain CNC production equipment including Swiss lathes. You will perform preventive maintenance, assist with troubleshooting and repairs, and document work orders to keep production flowing safely.

The role emphasizes following established maintenance procedures, reading technical manuals, and working with the maintenance team to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of maintenance, mechanical, or technical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, or equivalent technical training (trade school, military, or vocational program).
• Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents, including manuals and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on CNC production equipment, including Swiss lathes and supporting systems, at scheduled intervals.
• Respond to equipment issues during production and assist with basic troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Create, update, and close work orders in the maintenance system, ensuring accurate documentation of work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, and technical documents to perform required maintenance and service.
• Assist with equipment setup, adjustments, and changeover support as needed to maintain production flow.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), and verify equipment is in a safe condition prior to performing maintenance.
• Maintain organization of tools, parts, and work areas, and assist in tracking and restocking maintenance consumables and spare parts.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair status clearly to production and maintenance team members.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and reporting them to maintenance leadership.
• Experience in MIG welding is a plus.
