Northrop Grumman is seeking an Entry Level Machinist to support its Rocket Center, WV location. The role involves operating CNC mills and lathes, as well as manual machines, to produce components per blueprints.

The candidate will participate in setting up jobs and ensuring quality within a union environment. Responsibilities include planning operations, selecting tooling, and verifying tolerances with precision instruments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Two years of experience operating manual and/or CNC metal machining equipment or completed machinist training program.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills and CNC lathes, and manual lathes and mills from blueprints or sketches to produce parts to exact tolerances.
• Plan sequences, determine holding methods, and select tooling to meet drawings.
• Maintain high quality and productivity per procedures.
• Write or edit simple programs for short-run parts with supervisor approval.
• Compute reference points, angles and dimensions using shop mathematics (geometry and trig).
• Verify machined parts against reference docs using precision measuring instruments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
