Job summary

Arup in San Francisco is seeking a Graduate Sustainability Consultant available in 2027 to help deliver decarbonization and resilience work across built environments, under senior guidance and with a global multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should have a master’s degree related to sustainability, knowledge of building systems, energy simulations, and familiarity with LEED or WELL. The role offers a competitive salary and a path to grow within Arup’s international practice.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree related to sustainability or building science is preferred.
• Knowledge of building energy simulations and lifecycle costs is required.
• Familiarity with LEED, WELL, or Living Building Challenge is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist building performance analyses including lifecycle costs, energy optimization, and decarbonization studies under supervision.
• Support design and strategy development for decarbonized energy systems and net-zero projects.
• Develop thermal simulations and analyses to meet project goals (energy, carbon, comfort).
• Prepare reports, visuals, and deliverables for diverse audiences.
• Participate in early design workshops to promote sustainable integrated design.
• Contribute to project deliverables and track tasks and schedules.
