Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Sustainability Consultant in New York to support strategy, planning and implementation projects across decarbonization, ESG, resilience and resource conservation. You will assist clients with pursuing net-zero frameworks and contribute to projects from ideation to master-planning.

The role requires foundational understanding of sustainability concepts, strong research and communication skills, and proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe PDFs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in building, architecture, engineering, or related field.
• Experience with sustainability, decarbonization, resilience concepts is a plus.
• Knowledge of LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Living Building Challenge or Envision is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of strategy, planning and implementation projects focused on sustainability, decarbonization, ESG and resilience
• Assist clients in pursuing net-zero frameworks and other sustainability goals
• Contribute to projects at various stages from ideation to master-planning and infrastructure developments
• Conduct research on sustainability topics and energy/resource efficiency
• Develop lifecycle cost, water balance and energy feasibility studies under guidance
• Participate in site visits and client meetings with senior team members
• Contribute to deliverables including presentations and reports and manage sub-tasks
• Develop sketches and graphics to visualize sustainability concepts for client presentations
