Job summary

Egis in Chicago, IL seeks an entry-level civil engineer to support transportation projects under the guidance of an engineer. You will assist with plans production, 3D modeling from preliminary to final design, and the development of specifications and cost estimates.

Coordinate with staff and reviewers to ensure accuracy, maintain project documentation, and deliver tasks on time and budget. A BS in Civil Engineering by spring 2027 is required; EIT or Intern certification or plans to obtain is

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related BS by spring of 2027.
• Design experience a plus.
• EIT or Engineering Intern certification or plans to obtain prior to graduation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• OpenRoads Designer experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with plans production and design tasks under the direction of an engineer for transportation projects.
• 3D modeling from preliminary to final design.
• Assist in the development of specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines and sub-consultants, departments, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
• Maintain project documentation.
• Deliver project tasks on time and on budget.
• Learn and utilize typical design software packages.
