Job summary

Egis is seeking an entry-level engineer to join our Chicago team. You will assist in transportation design tasks, produce 3D models, and help develop specifications and cost estimates under the guidance of a licensed engineer.

Qualified candidates will have a BS in Civil Engineering by spring 2027, with an EIT or Intern certification planned or in progress. OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus, and strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field by spring of 2027.
• EIT or Engineering Intern certification or plans to obtain prior to graduation.
• OpenRoads Designer experience a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with plans production and design tasks under engineering direction.
• Produce 3D models from preliminary to final design.
• Develop specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project staff, disciplines, and sub-consultants for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain project documentation and deliver tasks on time and budget.
• Learn and apply typical design software packages.
