Job summary

Consor is seeking a Junior Engineer for the Structural Assessment team. The role blends field inspections of bridges, signs, dams, and tunnels with office work including reports, load ratings, and retrofit design.

Travel may be local or across the United States on occasion, offering broad hands-on experience and advancement of technical skills. The position requires a BS in civil/structural engineering, teamwork, and a willingness to pursue bridge inspection training and certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural or related Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• Willing to attend bridge inspection training courses per FHWA BIRM and keep current with CE requirements.
• Must be open to travel out-of-state or on short notice for emergency work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of bridges and related structures and prepare written technical reports and drawings.
• Assist inspections using testing methods, mechanized access, climbing/diving equipment, and drones/sonar devices.
• Mobilize to other offices/states to staff additional inspection teams.
• Perform additional structural assessment duties as assigned.
