Job summary

CEM Corporation in Matthews, NC is seeking a Junior Chemist to join our Manufacturing team. You will support production, quality control, packaging, and inventory management of solid-phase peptide synthesis reagents.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Chemistry or Biochemistry and a strong attention to detail. You will follow procedures, document results, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and on-time order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
• Strong academic performance; undergraduate research or internship helpful.
• Working knowledge of laboratory techniques and quality control principles.
• Ability to follow manufacturing procedures and maintain documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control testing and inspection of incoming raw materials to verify specifications.
• Prepare, manufacture, bottle, package, label, and store laboratory reagents according to procedures.
• Execute production activities adhering to schedules while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate production documentation including batch records and CoAs/DoOs.
• Review and fulfill customer reagent orders accurately and timely.
• Support inventory management including raw material receipt, unit of measure verification, batch processing, and cycle counts.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
• Follow safety procedures and quality management systems.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Customer Support, and Engineering teams.
• Assist with investigations related to quality concerns and corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
• Support additional production or Life Science activities as needed by the Production Manager.
