Job summary

Junior Cake Decorator

Sweet Treets Bakery is a local bakery focused on delighting our customers with artisanal, beautiful, and high-quality cakes and desserts. We are a 16-year-old business looking to bring on a Junior Cake Decorator who is reliable, creative, eager to learn, and enjoys working as part of a team.

If you have at least one year of bakery or cake decorating experience, basic decorating skills, an eye for detail, and a desire to continue developing your craft, we want to meet you!

We are looking for a Junior Cake Decorator to work alongside our experienced cake artists and help with our daily cake production. This role will be responsible for decorating our 24-hour cakes, case cakes, and tasting cakes, as well as assisting our decorators with color mixing and general decorating needs. You’ll have the opportunity to work under the mentorship of professional cake artists while continuing to develop your decorating skills.

Qualified Candidates Will:

• Have a minimum of 1 year of bakery and/or cake decorating experience
• Have basic cake decorating and piping skills
• Be familiar with color mixing and matching colors to design specifications
• Have strong attention to detail and an eye for design
• Be able to follow reference photos and established cake designs
• Be reliable, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment
• Have strong communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team
• Have a positive attitude and be open to learning, feedback, and developing new decorating techniques
• Be available to work Wednesday through Sunday, approximately 9 AM–5 PM
• Have weekend availability, which is required for this position
• Be available to work approximately 30–40 hours per week
• Obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate (required of all staff within 30 days of hiring)

Pay is $17–$20 per hour, based on experience.
