Job summary

Leica Biosystems in Vista, CA is seeking a Junior Buyer to support day-to-day purchasing to ensure timely material availability for manufacturing. You will place and release raw material purchase orders, monitor MRP, and escalate shortages as needed.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Planning & Procurement, you will collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Warehouse and other partners onsite to optimize supply and maintain accurate supplier data. This is an onsite role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and supplier delivery follow-up.
• Experience with P2P processes and PO management.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain raw material purchase orders and releases based on Planning direction, MRP requirements, Kanban and established purchasing procedures.
• Track, confirm, and expedite supplier deliveries, following up on open orders and escalating potential delays, shortages, or supply risks.
• Maintain material shortage and stock-out reporting, including supplier commitments, expected delivery dates, and recovery actions.
• Support supplier onboarding and maintain accurate supplier and purchasing information within applicable systems.
• Collaborate onsite with Planning, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and other operational partners to resolve material availability issues and support changing production requirements.
