AVMAC LLC in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Junior Purchasing Agent to support the procurement team with purchasing, supplier relationships, and assistance to the Purchasing Agent and Senior Buyer.

This temporary full-time role offers potential for conversion to permanent full-time and requires experience with FAR and MS Excel. The team emphasizes compliance, vendor coordination, and timely delivery in a federal program environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing and administrative duties.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Experience with ABS Nautical System NSE, Costpoint/Deltek and ADP software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in purchasing RFQs and procurement actions in support of MARAD RRF program and establish vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to ensure cost-effective purchasing compliant with FAR.
• Monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and track undelivered items.
• Maintain receiving documentation in accordance with FAR requirements.
• Reconcile vendor invoices and coordinate with accounting for payments.
• Assist in reviewing team expenses for travel policy compliance.
• Track timeliness of expenses and assist with travel/expense questions.
• Coordinate travel requests and arrange travel for the team.
• Maintain and update purchasing reports, research discrepancies, and elevate issues to the Purchasing Agent.
