Job summary

API Heat Transfer is seeking a Jr. Buyer to join our Buffalo facility. You will report to the Procurement and Planning Manager and support purchasing, supplier negotiations, and inventory management to keep production running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years in manufacturing, strong Excel and ERP experience (PLEX preferred), and a solid understanding of purchasing and Lean practices. This entry‑level role offers growth in a dynamic, Lean-focused team with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; an equal combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing/operations.
• Advanced MS Office skills; pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably PLEX.
• Proven knowledge of purchasing and supply chain best practices.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Buy assigned commodities and source suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and place orders based on MRP demand.
• Develop supplier relationships and manage supplier performance.
• Expedite or reschedule orders to meet production needs.
• Maintain stocking levels and manage inventory dollars and turns.
• Review shortages and ensure on-time production and delivery.
