Job summary

NOV seeks a detail-oriented Entry-Level Business Analyst in Houston to gather, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders. You will conduct interviews, workshops, and meetings to understand processes, translate needs into clear functional requirements and user stories, and create comprehensive process maps and SOPs.

You will assist senior analysts with solution design and refinement while supporting ERP and data reporting initiatives in a manufacturing and inventory context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in industrial/engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience as stated.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Manufacturing & Inventory Support

• Analyze manufacturing, inventory, warehouse, and supply chain business processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, production efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation, cycle count analysis, and inventory reporting.
• Understand and document processes related to:
• Bills of Materials (BOM)
• Production Orders
• Inventory Transactions
• Material Movements
• Warehouse Operations
• Purchase Orders
• Material Planning

ERP & Systems Support

• Support ERP enhancement projects and system implementations.
• Collaborate with technical teams to clarify business requirements.
• Assist in preparing functional specifications and business documentation.
• Participate in solution reviews and design discussions.
• Help identify opportunities to automate manual business processes.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze operational data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Build reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.
• Monitor manufacturing and inventory KPIs.
• Prepare recurring business reports for leadership.
• Support data validation and quality improvement initiatives.

Testing & Implementation

• Prepare User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios and test cases.
• Execute functional testing for new system enhancements.
• Document testing results and report issues.
• Coordinate with developers to resolve defects.
• Support software deployments and implementation activities.

Documentation & Training

• Create business process documentation and user guides.
• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with training end users on new system features and business processes.
• Ensure documentation remains accurate and up to date.

Project Support

• Assist Senior Business Analysts with planning and coordination activities.
• Participate in project meetings and status updates.
• Track action items and follow up with stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives.
