Job summary

AECOM in Atlanta is seeking an Entry Level Bridge Engineer to assist in developing bridge designs through engineering analysis, modeling, and plan production. You will work with Lead Engineers on Georgia projects, learning to apply standards and GDOT/AASHTO requirements.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, opportunities to contribute to transformative transportation projects, and close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team across the transportation business line.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Basic knowledge of word processors and spreadsheet tools (Word/Excel).
• Experience in CADD/drafting is strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Creating bridge designs using MicroStation/OpenBridge Designer.
• Developing structural design calculations per AASHTO/GDOT standards.
• Following detailed instructions and approved technical approaches.
• Researching alternative solutions and design options for the project team.
• Assisting in developing deliverables such as specifications and drawings.
• Performing self-checks and resolving comments for accuracy.
• Tracking task assignments, schedule, and effort.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

Engineer-in-Training certification within 1 year

Strong written and verbal communication skills
