Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join the Atlanta, GA design team. You will contribute to a growing Transportation group by applying bridge design expertise to develop plans, perform analyses, and support project delivery.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in structural engineering for bridges, a B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred), and a P.E. license in GA or SC or the ability to obtain within 12 months. Office-based with potential field work.

Qualifications

• Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting
• Experience with AASHTO Bridge Design Specifications is required
• Experience with GDOT or SCDOT design criteria and requirements is preferred
• Experience in developing plans using Bentley MicroStation
• Bridge load rating experience using AASHTOWare BrR is preferred
• Understanding of national and state bridge inspection methods, evaluations, and report preparation is preferred
• Bridge Condition Inspection experience is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Experience with bridge design/analysis software
• Proficient in MS Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Prepare structural design calculations, plans and contract documents
• Develop plan submissions for structural transportation projects
• Perform structural analysis of bridges and transportation structures
• Lead and review conceptual design alternatives for cost-effective solutions
• Lead and review preliminary and final design and load ratings
• Possibly inspect bridges and prepare inspection reports
