Socket.dev is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our multi-team agile program. You will work with senior engineers to develop, test, and maintain backend services, data workflows, and system interfaces supporting mission-critical capabilities.

This hands-on role emphasizes strengthening back-end systems, containerized cloud environments, and DevSecOps practices as you grow your skills with guidance from the team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional backend software experience developing backend applications or scripts.
• Solid Python programming and Bash scripting foundations.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and basic Redis familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, scripts, and endpoints using Python, adhering to coding standards and patterns.
• Assist in implementing data connectors, API endpoints, and messaging interfaces for reliable data flow between services.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to improve coverage and enable CI/CD validation.
• Investigate, reproduce, and fix defects in test or development environments under senior guidance.
• Package code into Docker containers and help deploy to Kubernetes clusters using Helm charts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies and apply feedback from peers.
