Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to build and operate the cloud-native platform powering our products. You will own production Kubernetes clusters, develop Go services, and ensure platform reliability to support multiple engineering teams.

The role covers platform architecture, observability, and production operations, with hands-on coding in Go, Python, or Java and a focus on delivering durable, scalable infrastructure across regions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in software, platform, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering.
• Demonstrated experience building and operating production Kubernetes platforms.
• Production experience writing Go, Python or Java.
• Experience designing systems from an ambiguous starting point and carrying them to production.
• Experience migrating cloud services between providers or environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production Kubernetes clusters.
• Write, refactor, and maintain production services and middleware in Go, Python, or Java.
• Lead incident response for platform-level issues and write postmortems.
• Plan and execute cloud migration initiatives with minimal downtime.
• Build and maintain observability through metrics, dashboards, and tracing.
