Job summary

Harris Group in Portland, Oregon, is seeking an Architectural Designer to join multidisciplinary teams on industrial facilities including laboratories and manufacturing environments. This role is based in Harris Group’s Portland office with intermittent travel to local jobsites.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a background in architectural design. Responsibilities include preparing presentations and drawings, coordinating with engineers, applying building codes, producing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture and 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of commercial project design, experience in manufacturing, industrial, cleanroom, or hazardous material preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare presentations, sketches, and drawings.
• Support project coordination, permitting, and administration.
• Coordinate with engineers and specialty consultants.
• Apply building codes and standards, including fire code, IBC/IFC, NFPA, and OSHA requirements.
• Produce design and construction documents.
• Participate in client presentations, design workshops, and reviews.
• Support business development efforts.
