Job summary

Harris Group seeks a Structural Engineer to contribute to large and small industrial manufacturing projects in Portland, OR. You will perform seismic evaluations, design steel structures and concrete foundations, and support equipment install.

Qualifications

• B.S. in ABET accredited Civil or Structural Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer Civil or licensed Professional Structural Engineer (SE) in WA, OR, CA, CO or SC; ability to sit for the 16-hour NCEES SE exam within two years.
• Advanced structural engineering knowledge for industrial capital projects.
• Conduct detailed calculations of loads, pressures, stresses, and strains of structural components with documented design basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform seismic evaluations and analyses for new and existing structures.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines and support construction activities to ensure successful project execution.
• Communicate structural designs through drawings, specifications, models, and documents.
• Lead and mentor younger engineers and designers when required.
• Manage effort estimates within project constraints (scope, quality, schedule, budget).
• Represent Harris Group at client meetings and industry events.
• Travel to off-site locations or client sites as needed.
• Apply constructability concepts within operating facilities with minimal production impact.
