Job summary

GHJ is partnering with a well-established organization to hire an entry-level accountant to join its growing finance team in Carson, California. This role offers hands-on accounting experience, training, and mentorship to help you build a solid foundation in accounting.

You will handle core AP tasks, assist with GL coding, vendor records, and month-end close activities while learning the full accounting cycle in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong understanding of debits and credits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Eager to learn and grow within an accounting career.
• Positive attitude and initiative.
• Previous accounting experience is a plus but not required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Process high-volume accounts payable transactions.
• Review invoices and ensure accurate GL coding.
• Maintain vendor records and assist with W-9 and 1099 compliance.
• Generate checks and supporting payment documentation.
• Research and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies.
• Reconcile A/P aging reports.
• Assist with journal entries and month-end close activities.
• Work closely with internal departments to answer accounting-related questions.
• Support audits and other accounting projects as needed.
