Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Junior Accountant to join the Settlement Team. The role focuses on settlement reporting, reconciliations, and maintaining financial integrity while supporting operational excellence and audit readiness across global operations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, 1+ year of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Oracle, Frontier, SAP, or similar systems. Bonus points for CPA or Big 4 exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience with exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, or general accounting activities.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting processes.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Oracle, Frontier, SAP or similar systems.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze discrepancies, manage priorities, communicate with stakeholders, and deliver accurate results on deadlines.
• CPA designation or equivalent is a bonus.
• Experience with Big 4 firms, audits, or internships is a plus.
• Experience supporting process improvement or automation initiatives using Microsoft 365 tools.

Responsibilities

• Drive settlement reporting, reconciliations, and accounting activities with accuracy and timeliness.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve financial variances to minimize risk and improve reporting.
• Support governance, audits, and documentation for compliance and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and scalable processes.
