Job summary

Global Payments is seeking an Accountant to run high-volume accounts payable processes, protect financial controls, and ensure accurate data across our global operations. You’ll apply policy, audit vendor invoices, and support the month-end close with reconciliations and accruals.

The ideal candidate has at least four years in AP/General Accounting, strong Excel skills, experience with Oracle or SAP Ariba, and clear English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• At least four years in accounts payable, general accounting or audit.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to investigate exceptions and escalate when needed.
• Proficiency with accounting applications and Microsoft Excel; ability to handle high volumes of financial data.
• Clear English communication; ability to explain policies and resolve questions in writing and speech.
• Detail-focused and accountable; follows processes and seeks improvements.

Responsibilities

• Drive accurate, high-volume accounts payable processing across assigned activities.
• Protect financial controls and compliance by applying policies and internal controls.
• Own employee expense audits; validate claims, receipts and policy compliance.
• Support month-end close with accruals, reconciliations and closing reports.
• Resolve accounting issues by analyzing exceptions and researching discrepancies.
• Reconcile employee expense reports against card charges and investigate overdue items.
• Create schedules and reports to provide leaders with actionable financial insight.
• Develop accounting expertise across systems, processes and country requirements.
