Job summary

Canteen, a Compass Group brand, is hiring a Junior Accountant to support core accounting functions and drive financial accuracy. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and works in-office with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in accounting, AP/AR, and a strong Excel skillset. The position offers full-time or part-time hours and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting/Finance/Business preferred.
• 2–3 years in accounting, AP/AR, reconciliation or related support.
• Proficient in Excel with formulas, pivot tables and VLOOKUP; Access familiarity helps.
• Experience with vending tech and credit card readers is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains financial and business transactions with accuracy and consistency.
• Prepares and maintains client and financial account reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Assists with month-end close entries and reconciliations to support financial accuracy.
• Assists with cash position analysis, check payments, deposits, purchases, expenses, and trial balances.
• Develops and runs queries using Access and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Analyzes program financial information to support business decisions.
• Serves as a point of contact for finance-related questions with clear communication.
• Prepares additional accounting reports as needed.
