Job summary

Canteen North America is hiring a Junior Accountant in Lenexa, KS. The role reports to the Accounting Manager and supports core accounting functions to ensure financial accuracy and effective operations. In-office schedule Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm with a pay range of $21–$23 per hour.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and a detail-oriented approach. Benefit-rich associate roles include comprehensive programs and onboarding.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience).
• 2–3 years of accounting, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliation, or operational support experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; pivot tables and VLOOKUP; Access familiarity is a plus.
• Comfort working with vending technology and payment equipment.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial transactions with accuracy.
• Reconcile client and financial accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Support month-end close and related reconciliations.
• Assist with cash position analysis, payments, deposits, and expenses.
• Produce program revenue reports; identify trends.
• Support Accounts Payable: check runs and vendor data.
• Develop and run queries in Excel/Access for reporting.
• Serve as finance contact and maintain clear communication.
• Prepare additional accounting reports as needed.
• Perform other duties to support the department.
