Job summary

AAA Northeast in Providence, RI is seeking an Accountant I to support the finance team with general ledger activities and monthly close tasks. You will assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting while applying established accounting principles.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree in accounting with 1–3 years of related experience and a strong grounding in GAAP. The role offers career growth within AAA Northeast and exposure to audits and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting required.
• 1-3 years related accounting experience required.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
• Prepare standard journal entries to facilitate monthly close.
• Develop data to prepare reports and statements.
• Coordinate with Forecasting and Planning team.
• Prepare account reconciliations, analyses, accruals, and journal entries for senior management and external auditors.
• Monitor compliance with GAAP and internal policies; identify opportunities for procedural enhancements.
• Assist other Financial Accountants with reconciliation issues as needed.
• Learn to perform a wide variety of accounting work.
