Palmetto GBA is seeking an entry-level accountant to support maintaining the general ledger and producing managerial reports. The role involves reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and assisting with regulatory filings and financial analyses.

You will work in a typical office setting with standard hours and possible overtime. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with accounting hours, strong accounting knowledge, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in a related field with 24 accounting hours (21 hours if hired before Aug 1, 2008).
• Fundamental accounting concepts, practices and procedures are required.
• Strong communication, organizational, customer service, and analytical skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Reconciles assigned accounts.
• Initiates and/or processes general ledger entries and journal entries.
• Prepares spreadsheets and inputs entries into the accounting system.
• Assists with daily, monthly, quarterly and annual filings as required by regulators and internal requirements.
• Prepares reports for financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting and trend analysis.
• Performs financial data analysis to identify issues and report to management.
• Maintains accurate general ledger accounts with regular reconciliations.
• Supports manager with special projects and cross-functional coordination.
