Job summary

LHH partners with a growing organization to hire a Junior Accountant to join its accounting team in Columbus. This entry‑level role offers hands‑on exposure to accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end close.

The position is contract to hire and 100% onsite at the north side office, presenting a solid path to full‑time placement within a collaborative accounting group.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting or related field required; bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience
• Understanding of debits and credits, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUPs) and comfort with accounting or financial systems; QuickBooks experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records
• Organized, dependable, and eager to continue developing within an accounting team

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting activities, including data entry, general ledger maintenance, and accurate financial recordkeeping.
• Handle accounts receivable responsibilities with a strong focus on customer invoicing, cash application, and account reconciliation.
• Assist with accounts payable activities, including invoice coding and preparation of payments.
• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations and assist with general ledger and journal entries.
• Participate in month-end close activities, account analysis, and preparation of financial reports.
• Support internal accounting controls, audits, and additional accounting projects as needed
