BlackHawk Data, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support the Finance team and CFO in daily accounting functions. The role emphasizes accuracy, initiative, and growth within a fast-paced IT solutions environment.

You will partner with the Finance team to ensure efficient financial operations, review contracts, and handle AR processes while supporting month-end close and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred.
• MBA/CPA preferred but not required.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical skills with GAAP usage.
• NetSuite experience preferred but not required.
• Microsoft Excel experience required.
• Reconciliation experience required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to roll up your sleeves and go the extra mile.

Responsibilities

• Support the Finance Department with monthly close activities and reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet schedules.
• Perform accounts receivable invoicing, statements, and aging analysis.
• Review customer contracts and assist in order approvals.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies across systems.
• Manage AR, cash receipts, and aging reporting.
• Assist with special financial analyses and reporting.
• Document and improve finance processes and controls.

Senior Staff Accountant will manage day to day accounting processes, prepare monthly close reconciliations, journal entries, account analyses, A/R processes and general accounting duties. This role will be responsible for providing support to the Finance Department reporting directly to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Finance Department with completion of monthly financial statement
• Assist with monthly close activities that include account reconciliation, recording journal entries, balance sheet schedules and P&L account analysis
• Validate data from multiple systems to ensure accuracy of data posted to accounting system
• Review customer contracts and assist in order approvals
• Responsible for accounts receivable including billing calculations, invoicing, statements, past due notices, posting of cash receipts and aging reports
• Identify and resolve discrepancies with internal and external teams
• Manage AR, by collecting, reporting and ensuring compliance to client’s terms
• Perform special projects, reporting analysis and other related duties as assigned
• Document and improve processes and controls within the finance department
