Teach For America is a national nonprofit offering a full-time, paid, two-year teaching opportunity for people who want to shape their next steps through real classroom impact. Corps members teach in under-resourced public schools, build relationships with students and families, and develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Start date is late Spring 2027. Applicants from all majors are encouraged—no teaching certification is required at entry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any field required.
• 2.5 cumulative GPA or higher.
• Must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States, EAD holder, or have DACA status.
• No background in teaching certification required—candidates from all majors and experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Teach two years full-time in an under-resourced public school
• Build genuine relationships with students and families — not just lesson plans
• Learn to navigate the barriers kids face inside and outside the classroom
• Sharpen your communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills through daily classroom leadership
• Work alongside your school community to remove obstacles and open doors for students who need it most
